Bad: The washing machine died on Boxing Day.
Good: New one was just delivered.
Bad: The drain is the wrong height.
Good. We can remedy that tonight.
Bad: The furnace started exhibiting strange behaviour this morning.
Good: I was already working from home because of the washing machine, so I put in a call to the furnace people and they’ve got someone they can send over this afternoon.
Bad: This furnace is less than a year old.
Good: Warranty.
Bad: I’ve had to cancel an after-work outing because of the furnace issue.
Good: I don’t have to put on a bra today!
Bad: Working from home and dealing with these things means I’m probably not being as productive as I should.
Good: HOMEMADE GRILLED CHEESE SAMMICHES!!
Also Good: Working from home means that the happy hour bar is just a few feet away.
So, not bad, really.
