The force was with Leslie Seiler and Paul Kingston the day they said I do. Now, so is Internet fame.

The Toronto couple have had to curtail their own honeymoon to deal with the spate of publicity surrounding one of their wedding photos.

The image — snapped on May 31st in central Toronto– depicts the two aspiring comedians and their wedding party being chased by the iconic All-Terrain Armored Transport vehicles (At-Ats) from the Star Wars franchise.

Last Saturday, Banff mechanic Tim Bartlett was christening a new motorcycle through the Rocky Mountains when he had a rare wildlife encounter that was equal parts terrifying and enchanting. On a stretch of British Columbia’s Highway 93, a massive grey wolf emerged from the trees, lunged at his speeding ride and chased after him at full speed as he pulled away.

The story would have become little more than another legend clanging around the roadhouses of Western Canada if Mr. Bartlett had not whipped a camera out of his top pocket to record the event for posterity; capturing a series of rare snapshots that have since been beamed around the world. This is not a joke (as far as we can tell): Quebec convenience store chain Couche-Tard (Mac’s in English-speaking Canada) has introduced a new flavour of crushed-ice beverages just in time for summer — and they’re raising some eyebrows.

Called La Sloche Pizzaghetti (say it out loud — it sounds awful), the new flavour is actually two — you guessed it: pizza and spaghetti — which Couche Tard suggests are best enjoyed together in a series of commercials that romantically pair a gigantic slice of pizza and a woman made of spaghetti.

Henry Morgentaler, a doctor who became a crusader for Canadian women’s rights to have abortions, died this morning, an abortion activist was told by the family. He was 90.

Morgentaler, who was born in Poland and came to Canada after the Second World War, emerged in 1967 as an advocate for the right of women to have abortion on demand — a polarizing issue in Canada.

Three years later, Morgentaler opened the first abortion clinic in Montreal, followed by more clinics across the country.

Pro-life activists targeted the clinics and rallies, protests and legal battles followed until Jan. 28, 1988, when the Supreme Court struck down Canada’s abortion law as unconstitutional. (Brett Gundlock/National Post/Files)
